SWING for beginners with SANTINO MIRENNA from Skal Vi Danse!
Intensive course - 4 hours.

*No prior knowledge required.
*You do not need to bring a partner.
*We learn the basic steps of 6-takt swing.
*We build a solid basic structure that allows you to feel comfortable on the dance floor.

East Coast Swing is first and foremost a social dance that you learn to be able to dance with anyone, and to have fun!
The dance originated in the African-American community in Harlem in New York in the 1920s and 1930s and was danced to the pop music of the time; swing jazz, more specifically big band jazz.
Swing is energetic and has a lot of rhythms. Both in dance and in music, individuality and improvisation are important elements. In swing, both dancers are equally important in the partnership, and the music is often referred to as the third partner.

Meet our instructor:
SANTINO from Italy - born in a small town in Sicily.
Santino started dancing at the age of 8. He achieved a high level in a short time and won his first Italian championship in 2005. In 2008, Santino and his partner qualified for the highest category of the F.I.D.S. (Italian Dance Sport Federation) where he quickly achieved excellent results.
In 2014, Santino moved to Norway where he represented HILL Sportsdansere where he achieved, among other things, a two-time silver medalist in the National Championships. Together with his partner, he represented Norway in the EC in Cambrils and in the WC in Vienna.
From 2019, Santino has been part of the professional dancers in the TV show "Skal Vi Danse".
