One of the defining bands of the 1935-1945 Big Band Era, The One and Only TOMMY DORSEY ORCHESTRA reigned supreme with a long list of hits that provided the sound track beloved by Lindy Hoppers and Jitterbuggers across the nation. Ever hear of a skinny kid from Hoboken named FRANK SINATRA? Yeah, he got his start with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. Are you familiar with the great arranger and composer SY OLIVER, responsible for such tunes as Opus No. 1, Yes Indeed, Well, Get It!, and T'aint What You Do? Yeah, he worked with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. Have you danced to such hits as the above-mentioned tunes, as well as Marie, Little White Lies, Song of India, East Of the Sun? Yeah, those are all hits from the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.
Now under the musical direction of JEFF BUSH (a familiar face you'll recognize from previous appearances at the Spanish Ballroom), we are beyond thrilled to be welcoming the superlative, the great, The One and Only TOMMY DORSEY ORCHESTRA back to the Spanish Ballroom--for the first time since the 1950s!
