Dr. Zac Hickman is Business Development and Knowledge Exchange Manager at the University of Bath. He works with companies of all sizes and sectors to help them access the University’s expertise, facilities, and funding opportunities. Zac’s role is to support businesses in tackling their challenges, whether through collaborative research, access to innovation funding like Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) and Innovate UK schemes, or longer-term strategic partnerships. With a background in environmental science and over a decade of experience bridging academia and industry, Zac helps turn ideas and research into real-world impact, supporting cross-sector innovation and growth.

Zac will be talking about how businesses, regardless of size or sector, can access university expertise to support their research, development, and innovation goals. He will share practical examples of how companies are working with the University of Bath, the types of business challenges the University can help address, and the wide range of expertise and facilities available. Zac will also highlight the funding available to support these collaborations, including Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs), Innovate UK schemes, and other routes that help reduce the cost and risk of innovation.
