Swimming the Distance of the English Channel

I’m Ben Hughes, a local lad from Nuneaton. George Eliot Hospital is at the heart of our community and being a part of many of my friends and families lives for all kinds of medical care and support for numerous years.
Very much my why is to improve and maintain services provided at the hospital for specifically the elderly patients as I want them to feel comfortable, supported and valued. I’ve seen first hand elderly people close to me in my personal life and in the past my work life struggle, be in pain and feel helpless and hopeless. No one should feel this way.
So I’m raising money in aid of the hospital’s charity by me and some swimmers swimming the distance of the English Channel in a swimming pool.
I will myself be swimming at least half of the distance which is 10 miles (over 650 lengths) to show my effort and determination towards the cause.
I’m looking for swimmers to join me on the day. We are also doing a Tombolla, need stall holders, baked goods for our bake sale and George Ele the hospital mascot will be making a visit.
