Kick off the season with RPI’s first open enrollment Swiftwater Rescue Operations class of the year.Hosted by the Denville Fire Department on May 26, 28, and 30, 2026, this program is designed to meet technical rescue qualifications for NFPA 1006 and NFPA 1670. This is Part 2 of RPI’s 4 part Swiftwater program and is built for rescuers ready to strengthen their capabilities with serious instruction, practical land based skills, and real in water training.
Lecture and land based skills will be held at the Denville Fire Department, and the in water training will take place at Scudders Falls. Students must be 18 years of age to participate, pre registration is required, and all students will receive certificates following successful completion of the program. Swiftwater Awareness is required before taking Operations.
Cost is $385 per student and space is limited to 24 students. Students must provide their own PPE including dry suit, Class 5 PFD with tether, water rescue helmet, water boots, water gloves, water knife, and whistle. Checks, cash, and purchase orders are accepted.
