SaskMusic's next Sweet Summer Concert will take place at Bushwakker Brewpub in Regina featuring Sean Bougie, Belle Diabolique, Auntie KD, and Kiining will take place on August 19, 2025!
Sean Bougie is an Indigenous (Montreal Lake Cree Nation) classical guitarist from Saskatoon, who has been playing for over 20 years. This long history with the instrument has allowed Sean to curate an interesting collection of classical guitar repertoire to perform at events around Western Canada. After performing in rock band Witherfire, Sean completed his Bachelor's of Music: Individualised at the U of S, where he discovered his ability in classical guitar. He is currently writing his Master of Arts: Musicology thesis. Sean also teaches guitar students at StudioXII in Saskatoon. He has played multiple events and festivals around Western Canada including the Saskatoon Fringe Festival, the Haywire Farm Festival, and the Sasktel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival. Sean was nominated twice for Saskatchewan Indigenous Music Awards - Best Instrumentalist, and nominated twice (including a recent win for Instrumentalist/Ambient Artist of the Year) at the Saskatchewan Music Awards.
'Haunted. Honest. Here. It's Belle Diabolique.' Belle currently hails from the Saskatoon area.
AUNTIE KD is a queer, Indigenous (Cree) aspiring producer, composer, songwriter and drag musician/performer - born and raised in Treaty Four Territory with lineages from Cowessess First Nation (Mother), and Peguis First Nation (Father). Their style is a blend of Indie/Alternative Rock/Pop, Electronic, Funk and R&B, with audio experimentations of traditional Indigenous language and music creation. Influenced by Rostam Batmanglij, Tracy Chapman, Brian MacDonald, Trixie Mattel, Janelle Monae, William Prince, Tia & Fawn Wood, Doechii, Queen, and countless others - they intend to amplify BIPOC & 2SLGBTQ+ musicians/artists, expand representation and explore modern Indigeneity and relation to land. The stage persona ‘AUNTIE KD’ - inspired by icons like Prince, Michael Jackson, Elvis, and Johnny Cash - is an homage to familial/community duties, celebrating fluidity within societal roles imposed by Western worldviews. They’re currently producing an original debut single “Didn’t Ask” to be commercially released in Fall/Winter 2025, building towards a LP release in 2026/2027.
Kiinging, a dynamic artist from the streets of Lagos Nigeria currently residing in Regina, fuses Afrofusion and pop to create a bold, global sound. His music breaks barriers and connects deeply with audiences worldwide. His song “Forever” was nominated for Single of the Year at the 2023 Saskatchewan Music Awards.
