A chocolate mill opened along the Neponset River in the late 1700s, setting the stage for New England’s enduring love affair with sweets. Over the following centuries, the region has become home to an extraordinary variety of baked, fried, dipped, sugared, and frozen confections.
Author Susan Mara Bregman will share stories from her latest book, New England Sweets, about this sugary legacy – from Necco Wafers to whoopie pies.
Please join the Plainville Historical Commission and bring your sweet tooth as we once again welcome Author Susan Bregman to Plainville. Just a few years ago, Susan wrote a wonderful book about Attractions Along Route One, which included Cowboy Town and photos provided by the Historical Commission, now she's back focusing on our Sweet Side with a new book!!!
