Why I’m Organizing This Mental Health Awareness Event

I’m organizing this Mental Health Awareness event because I’ve experienced the deep pain that mental health struggles can cause. I lost my dad to suicide in 1985 and my brother in 2024, and these heartbreaking losses have driven me to take action. This event is my way of honouring their memories while bringing people together to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and remind others that they are not alone.

But this day isn’t just about awareness — it’s also about joy, connection, and community. That’s why the event will be packed with exciting experiences for families, including mascots, dinosaurs, Transformers, face painting, and even sword fighting demonstrations with Mishael from Game of Thrones. It’s a day to lift spirits, start important conversations, and offer support in a fun and welcoming environment.

Together, we can make a difference — through love, understanding, and a little bit of magic.
