Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a unique creative experience in our Swedish Hearts Folk Painting Workshop! This class combines artistry and tradition, teaching you the vibrant techniques of Swedish folk painting. You’ll explore the history and evolution of this cultural craft, gaining inspiration from both traditional and contemporary styles.

About your instructor:
Alison Aune received a B.F.A. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1981and spent her junior year at Östa Grevie Folkhögskola in Sweden. She received her M.A. from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 1987, and a Ph.D. from Ohio University Athens in 2000 with one year as an exchange student at the University of Trondheim Norway. She served as education coordinator at the Tweed Museum of Art from 1991 to 1999 before joining the UMD Department of Art and Design as a professor of art education.
