Swedish Death Cleaning: A Sustainable Gift to Yourself, Your Family, Your Community
Presented by Lauren Ponder, End-of-Life Planner, and Kelly Tecklenburg. Lauren Ponder is a certified end-of-life planner, celebrant, and founder of With Love Events. She specializes in creating personalized funerals and celebrations of life that bring meaning, comfort, and connection to families during times of loss. Lauren is the Director of Last Call: An End-of-Life Festival, serves on the board of the Gateway End of Life Coalition, and co-teaches the End-of-Life Doula Certificate Program at Eden Theological Seminary. Through her work and community education, she advocates for more open, thoughtful conversations about death and planning ahead.
Kelly Tecklenburg, Death Doula, brings creative vision, thoughtful coordination, and compassionate presence to every family, community, and project she serves. With a background in marketing and media, Kelly offers a unique perspective on making conversations around mortality feel approachable, inclusive, engaging, and even beautiful. Kelly wears many ‘hats’ in supporting her community through life’s transitions. As a Senior Move Specialist, she helps individuals and families “right-size” through the practice of Swedish Death Cleaning—creating space for what matters most. She is also a content writer for a local magazine, coffee shop barista, the facilitator of RIP (Read in Peace) Book Club, and an active member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. In addition, Kelly serves as sexton of Wildey Cemetery in Washington, home to the community’s Telephone of the Wind.
