🔥 Gold Hill Kiva Gathering: Sweat Lodge or Kiva Ceremony 🌿
Sunday, June 28, 2026
Gold Hill Kiva • Gold Hill, Colorado
As we gather in the days following the Summer Solstice, we come together in prayer, community, reflection, and renewal.
Because mountain weather is always full of surprises, it's hard to predict what conditions will be on Sunday the 28th. If temperatures are moderate, we will proceed with a traditional Sweat Lodge Ceremony. If the day is exceptionally hot, we will move into the cool embrace of the Kiva itself and hold ceremony there. The Kiva format allows for a more interactive gathering, with opportunities for dialogue, teachings, storytelling, song, prayer, and community sharing.
Either way, the intention remains the same: to create sacred space for healing, connection, and authentic presence.
🌿 Theme of the Times: Difficulties
Every era carries its challenges, and these are certainly interesting times. Rather than turning away from difficulties, we will explore how challenge can become a teacher, how hardship can deepen resilience, and how community can help us carry what feels too heavy to bear alone.
Together we will reflect on the difficulties facing our personal lives, our communities, and our world—and seek wisdom, strength, and perspective from one another and from traditions that have guided people through difficult times for generations.
🔥 Ceremony Leadership
The gathering will be led by Jamie Colon-Orelup, a traveling medicine woman and curandera whose work draws from Curanderismo, Ayurveda, and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Her approach is deeply heart-centered and integrative, weaving together breathwork, conversation, laughter, ceremony, community witness, and ancient healing traditions. Jamie serves as a bridge between contemporary life and ancestral wisdom, helping create spaces where people can reconnect with themselves, one another, and the natural world.
Assisting and co-piloting the gathering will be Jeffrey Many Hats (Jeff Combelic), long-time Kiva steward, community organizer, storyteller, drummer, climate advocate, and self-described sacred fool. Jeffrey's work centers on bringing people together through ceremony, music, conversation, and shared experience, helping cultivate community resilience, authentic connection, and a little humor in challenging times.

🌲 About the Gold Hill Kiva

Whether we gather in the lodge or in the Kiva itself, we continue that tradition of coming together with open hearts and mutual respect.
