About this Event

We're excited to invite you to Swap, Mend & Dance on 16th August. A space for women and non-binary people of colour to connect, share and care for each other.

Come along for the swap and stay for the community and the vibes!

How it works

Swapping pre-loved (clean and in good condition) clothing, accessories, plants, books or baked goods.

1) Bring along up to 10 items

2) Volunteers will check your items at the door and issue a token for each accepted item

4) Your items will be added to the stalls for all to shop: one token = one item.

5) Any items remaining at the end will be donated to charity.

*Baked goods = cakes, breads & other pastries, no other perishable foods, please! No furniture, or broken items. If you’re unsure whether something is suitable to swap, feel free to get in touch before the event.

Swapping Service

1) Fill out a Service/ Skill Offer or Needs card on arrival and add it to the Exchange Wall

2) Browse the wall throughout the event to find a match

3) Join the skills exchange sessions (1 pm and 2 pm) to meet, agree an exchange and swap contact details

What if I don't have anything to swap or run out of tokens?

1) No to worry, you can purchase tokens at the entrance to "buy" clothing, accessories, books or baked goods, and you can agree an exchange of services/skills at the skills exchange sessions. Tokens cost £2 each; proceeds will help fund future Rejuvenate community events. We accept both cash and card payments for tokens, so you can pay in whichever way suits you best.

Mending

We've teamed up with the wonderful SKC (Stitch, Knit, Crochet) Space to bring sewing machines, needles, thread, buttons (and more), along with support and guidance to help you mend, adjust and give new life to anything you've brought to mend or have "bought" at the swap.

Stay for the Community & the Vibes

DJ Tani Be will be on deck bringing the best vibes all day! Come prepared for a boogie, or join the games and chat space to meet new people!

Here’s what’s happening on the day:

Doors open: 12 pm

Swapping begins: 12:30 pm

Skills exchange sessions: 1 pm and 2 pm

Mending station: 12: - 3 pm

Games, chat, and chill: all afternoon

Event ends: 3 pm
