FREE CLOTHES SWAP!
Come along to Swap Co-op, a brand new FREE clothes swap pop-up event inside Heywood Market!
Clothes swaps are an opportunity to circulate clothes & accessories with other members of your community. They are a great way to explore your style, help others, socialise and most importantly save clothes from going to landfill. So bring your clothes along and swap them for something new to you.
There will be a changing room & the disabled toilet also available, and mirror if you want to try things on. There is also free parking in the market car park! - free street parking is also available around the area!
We've already got lots of clothes to choose from kindly provided by Future Fashion Fair from their previous swap shop events.
Need something repairing/altering or have you ever wanted to learn how to sew, mend, alter or upcycle clothing yourself?
SK Alterations will be available throughout the day for ‘alteration demonstration’ group sessions - an introduction to repairing & altering. - message @skalterationsheywood on facebook to book in a time slot! or call/text Sue from SK Alterations - 07783 922976
We'll be taking pictures to promote the work we do and future events, please let us know on arrival if you don't want us to take your picture.
Can't wait to see you all there!
HOW IT WORKS
You can bring max 10 items of clothing, accessories and/or footwear freshly cleaned * and ready to go on the rails. We accept all genders & sizes including children's clothing.
You will receive 1 token per item you bring, to keep track of how many items you brought in to swap with. (you will receive an extra token if the item you bring in is ‘high end’ so 2 tokens = 1 high end item - these items will be stickered to show that they ‘cost’ 2 tokens rather than 1).
You'll be able to drop clothes off from 9.30am and you can start swapping from 10am - 3pm - you can come at any time during these times, simply bring with you your pre-loved clothes that you would like to swap with & then browse the rails and use your token currency to exchange for new (to you) pre-loved items.
Items will be quickly assessed by the Swap Co-op team on arrival and then hung up on the rails or folded on the table. Once the items are traded for tokens they go straight into the stall available for anyone to pick up, so make sure you are 100% sure before you pass them over.
If you don't have clothes to swap but you want to take clothes, or if you want more clothes than you bring, you have the option to purchase clothes (prices will start from £1 -£5 per item).
This is a community driven swap where we accept items from high street up to high end.
If you don't use all your tokens you can save them and bring them to the next clothes swap & we can also keep track of your tokens digitally through a spreadsheet, if you are happy to provide contact information so we can inform you of the next swap!
