Pollinator Detectives: Art Inspired by Nature
Please Register: 6-27-swamp-oak-wanderers-66990.cheddarup.com (limited to 15 participants)
Become a Pollinator Detective and discover the colorful world of Prairie Island’s wildflowers, bees, butterflies and others! Join us for a guided nature walk as we explore what's blooming and buzzing throughout the season and learn how pollinators help keep our ecosystems healthy and thriving.
Along the way, you'll learn simple tips for using your smartphone to photograph native bumblebees, butterflies, and flowering plants. Participants will have the opportunity to contribute their observations to iNaturalist, helping create a community pollinator inventory while supporting real-world conservation and scientific research.
After our outdoor exploration, we'll turn nature into art! Using leaves, flowers, and other botanical treasures gathered during our walk, we'll experiment with leaf and flower printing to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind nature-inspired artwork to take home.
Whether you're a curious beginner, a budding naturalist, a photographer, or simply looking for a fun family adventure outdoors, this program offers a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, contribute to community science, and celebrate the amazing pollinators that call Prairie Island home.
All ages welcome. Perfect for families, nature enthusiasts, photographers, and anyone curious about the hidden world of pollinators. 🐝🌼📸🎨
