Why is Breast Cancer Awareness Important:
Breast cancer is a leading cause of death among women worldwide. Early detection and treatment significantly improve survival rates. By raising awareness, we can encourage women to prioritize regular screenings, seek medical advice promptly, and support those who have been diagnosed.

Heidi Garland is a breast cancer and multiple cancer survivor and advocate for the American Cancer Society. She is a fundraiser who works to increase awareness and fund cutting-edge research. She is a wife and mother of two sons and one daughter-in-law. She owns Guild West Agency, a digital marketing firm. Heidi epitomizes the survivor movement because, despite her many cancers and surgeries, starting with a double mastectomy in 2008, she has kept on fighting while volunteering for the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Heidi’s mission is to transform cancer from deadly to treatable and treatable to preventable.
