Suzanne Cunningham: Copperplate Fundamentals | 2-Day Workshop
About this Event
Have you always wanted to learn Copperplate but wondered if you have the steady hand for it?
Start here.
Join internationally respected calligrapher and educator Suzanne Cunningham for two days devoted to building a beautiful, confident foundation in one of calligraphy’s most timeless scripts.
And yes, beginners are absolutely welcome.
Suzanne takes the intimidation out of Copperplate, breaking it down into the things that actually make the letters work: pressure and release, fundamental strokes, proportion, spacing and elegant lowercase forms.
Rather than simply copying an alphabet, you’ll begin to understand why Copperplate looks the way it does and how those fundamental strokes come together to create beautiful letters.
Suzanne has been teaching Copperplate for more than 27 years and is Co-Editor of the 25th Edition of the Speedball Textbook. Her calm, clear teaching style has made her a favourite among students who want to learn correctly without feeling overwhelmed. Flourish Festival of Letters & Art
