Join Our Sustainable Rug-Making Workshop Series!

We are thrilled to come back to our favourite workshop series that we can organise again with help from ECCAN sustainable grants! Using recycled fabrics and handmade looms crafted from reclaimed wood, we’ll create beautiful, sustainable home rugs together.

What to Expect

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn basic weaving techniques and use them to craft your very own unique home rug from upcycled materials. Our looms are handmade from recycled wood, and we’ll be sharing how we built them—along with alternative DIY options. Plus, we’ve gathered plenty of fabrics for you to choose from!

How Does It Work?

Each workshop series consists of two sessions (a total of 8 hours), and we ask that you attend both. If you need to arrive late or leave early, that’s okay—just keep in mind that you’ll have 8 hours to complete your rug.

Who Can Join?

This workshop is open to everyone, regardless of experience—whether you’re a complete beginner or have some weaving skills, you’re welcome!

What to Bring

Please bring one piece (or more) of sentimental clothing that you would like to weave in your rug. It should be ideally something that you don't wear anymore, it is too old or used to sell but still has sentimental value. We all have so many pieces like this at home! This way we can bring them back to life and give a special value to our rugs. If you have any additional pieces of clothing that you would like to donate for the workshop, we will be happy to welcome them!

If you don't have anything to bring - don't worry! We will have lots of fabric anyway and we provide all the materials, including fabrics, looms, and tools!
