About this Event
Join us for a Sustainable Patchwork Workshop on March 7th from 12–3 PM at Shop Mama Sage. This hands-on, beginner-friendly session teaches students how to transform clothing they already own into a refreshed, wearable piece using creative patchwork techniques. Instruction will be led by sewing instructor Grace Tabron (@a.new.creation.co).
What students will learn:
- How to plan a patchwork design
- How to select and place fabric pieces
- Basic pattern cutting and pinning methods
- Hand-sewing and beginner sewing machine skills
- How to upcycle garments through sustainable fashion practices
Participants will design their layout, cut fabric pieces, and pin their pattern before attaching patches by hand or with a sewing machine based on their comfort and skill level. No prior sewing experience is required.
Materials: All patchwork supplies and tools are provided.
Please bring: One base clothing item to add patchwork to. Students may also bring extra fabrics or special materials for their design.

Age Requirement: This is a 12+ event due to the use of sewing machines.
