Join us in celebrating the first locally and communally produced linen garment in the UK in 200 years! Meet the group of flax growers, share their exciting story, and view their wonderful creations.Part of the nationally celebrated Sustainable Fashion Week (SFW 24), this event aims to recognise the importance of forgotten heritage crafts. Members of the Let’s Grow Flax community group, led by skilled textile craft artisans Brigitte Kaltenbacher and Ginny Farquhar, will be providing demonstrations of the fibre extraction process and displaying samples of their own textile pieces.
Please note that the Museum will be closed. Access to the event, which will be held in the garden and Garden Gallery, will be via the side gate only.
Tickets are free but advance booking is required.
