Let's learn about fall seed starting - the Southern Sustainable way. We will discuss timing, methods, and the issues with the abundant use of plastic in our environment, including in our gardens.
You will get your hands dirty learning about soil blocking, the snail method, seed tape, and a few other methods, time allowing. If you want to use your fall seeds, bring them! Bring a smaller paper shoebox, if you have one. Soil blends and a selection of fall seeds will be provided. You will go home with seeds prepared to sprout. Spaces limited to 14.
This workshop is taught by Kate Van Cantfort, head flower farmer and sustainable garden designer of Southerlee Farm in White Pond. Kate has been a for-hire organic gardener for 25+ years, working in 8 states and 15+ ecoregions, so far!
$45 for the class.
