Join Sussex Trail Runners for a scenic and sociable 12-mile (19 km) circular trail run through the beautiful Cuckmere Valley, following the historic Cuckmere Pilgrims Path. With 1,214 feet (370 meters) of elevation gain, this downland route offers a rich blend of natural beauty, heritage landmarks, and flowing trails.
This is not a race, but a fun and relaxed adventure designed to connect like-minded trail runners and help you discover new routes. Along the way, we’ll pass seven ancient churches, including the smallest church in Sussex, and the iconic Long Man of Wilmington, a mysterious chalk hill figure carved into the Downs.
The route features a mix of rolling hills, open fields, wooded tracks, and panoramic views, showcasing some of the finest scenery the South Downs has to offer.
