Survivor to Rider - Thyroid Cancer Awareness Charity Ride for Macmillan Cancer Support

When I was just 12 years old, I found a lump in my neck. Three years later, at the age of 15, I was finally diagnosed with thyroid cancer.
People often call it the "good cancer." But there was nothing good about it.
There was the fear of hearing the word "cancer" as a teenager. The countless hospital appointments, endless needles, surgeries after the cancer spread, scans, and radioactive treatment that meant spending a week at a time completely isolated in a hospital room. There were the days of missing school, missing out on being a normal teenager, and wondering what would come next.
Cancer doesn't just affect your body—it changes your life.
Throughout my journey, Macmillan Cancer Support was there for me. They provided reassurance, practical advice, emotional support, and reminded me that neither I nor my family had to face cancer alone.
This September, for Thyroid Cancer Awareness Month, I'm taking on a motorbike charity ride to give something back.
Every mile we ride is for the people who are currently facing a diagnosis, recovering from treatment, supporting a loved one, or grieving someone they've lost. I want to help ensure that Macmillan can continue providing the incredible support that helped me through one of the hardest times of my life.
If my story inspires you, please consider donating. No matter how big or small, every contribution helps Macmillan continue supporting people living with cancer.
Together, we can make sure no one has to face cancer alone.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and for helping me turn one of the hardest chapters of my life into something that can make a difference for others.
** For riders in Kent that wish to join us on our ride, please follow our Facebook page, and make a small donation of at least £5. Thank you!**
