Join the Ellis County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) and the Center for Empowering Victims of Gender-based Violence at FHSU for an evening of courage, resilience, and community conversation.Survivor Stacie Edgett-Minson will share her story of healing after experiencing sexual violence committed by the individual known as the I-70 Rapist, reflecting on reclaiming her voice, the role of faith, and the pursuit of justice. She’ll be joined by Sedgwick County District Attorney Marc Bennett and former KBI agent Mark Kendrick, who helped investigate and prosecute the case.
A panel of local professionals — including representatives from Options, Hays Medical Center, the Hays Police Department, and the Ellis County Attorney’s Office — will answer questions about sexual assault response and survivor resources in our community.
This event offers space to learn, reflect, and better understand how survivors are supported locally. Livestream details coming soon.
⚠️ Content Note: This presentation includes discussion of sexual violence and may be difficult for some attendees. Support resources will be available.
We hope you will join us for this important community conversation.
