Would you like to spend more time with your child in a nature based setting? Concerned about the increasing screen time and technology but very little experience of life in its natural state? This one day workshop is for a parent and child to spend quality time in nature and learn some new skills together. We will explore:
*Nature identification and foraging - what is edible in the bush and paddock
*Fires β how to collect the right tinder even if itβs wet and to start a fire without a lighter
*Knot tying β specifically for creating a shelter or use in a camp
*Shelter building, styles, and options (that could be slept in overnight) using natural materials and or a tarp
This workshop is designed to increase knowledge through hands on experience.
Time in nature is essential for our wellbeing. Earthed Forest School offers a learner centred approach of enquiry and discovery which develop self esteem resilience and empathy through hands-on learning experiences in a natural environment.
If learning is enjoyable and fulfilling this will have a profound and positive effect on the way children and young people relate to each other and the world around them.
