About this Event

Join us for the premiere of Surfacing: A New USS Arizona Rises, a documentary by award-winning filmmaker Tim Gray exploring the enduring legacy of the USS Arizona, and the new U.S. Navy submarine that will carry its name. The film connects the history of the battleship USS Arizona (BB-39), lost during the Dec. 7, 1941, attack on Pearl Harbor, with the future USS Arizona (SSGN-803), currently under construction. Through historical storytelling, interviews, and underwater exploration, the documentary examines how the ship's legacy continues through a new generation of sailors.

Stay for the Panel Discussion
Following the screening, filmmaker Tim Gray will be joined by actors, Jon Seda and Joshua Bitton, both of whom starred in HBO's The Pacific, for a live panel discussion and autograph signing. Hear about the making of the documentary, the history of the USS Arizona, and the importance of keeping its story alive.
