Surf Fishing with the Santa Cruz Fly Fishing Club

DFF members are invited to fly fishing with the Santa Cruz club early morning of Saturday August 1 at the Palm State Beach. The Santa Cruz club has experts on fishing in this home water and are looking forward to hosting this combined event and introducing this amazingly different opportunity to fish in this nearby section of our coast. Contact co-host Bob Fujimura to register (email: [email protected]) and obtained the detailed information on this event and how to surf fly fish for surf perch and striped bass. Bob has been a guest of SCFF before and attended surf outings with the GGACC club. Members with intermediate or advanced fly fishing skill with heavier sinking lines or shooting heads are encouraged to sign up.
The required equipment should be very similar if you have fished Pyramid Lake, NV using sinking lines from its shoreline. Due to early starting time, participants are strongly encouraged to lodge nearby prior this outing – Palm State Beach does not have camping facilities but there are plenty of overnight rooms available in nearby Santa Cruz and Watsonville. DFF members are required to have a valid liability waiver form on file to participate.
