About This Training

Talking about suicide can feel intimidating, yet avoiding the conversation can increase risk. Adults who feel prepared are more likely to intervene effectively.

This training provides clear, practical guidance for supporting youth who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts or crisis.

In This Session, We’ll Explore:

  • Warning signs and protective factors
  • How to ask directly and compassionately about suicide
  • What to say and what to avoid
  • Immediate steps to increase safety
  • Connecting youth to appropriate resources
  • Maintaining healthy boundaries as a supportive adult

This training includes discussion of sensitive topics. Participants are encouraged to take care of themselves as needed during the session.
