Supporting LGBTQ Latter-day Saints

Dear Austin-area friends,

We are excited to invite you to this free event about how to better support LGBTQ Latter-day Saints and their families. Richard Ostler has graciously agreed to be our speaker, and his presentation is based on President M. Russell Ballard's invitation: "We need to understand what our LGBTQ brothers and sisters are feeling and experiencing. Certainly, we must do better than we have done in the past so that all members feel they have a spiritual home."

Please note: This is not an official event of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or any of the Austin-area stakes.

Richard Ostler is a married father of six children, former YSA Bishop, and active church member. Brother Ostler is supportive of the LDS church and its leaders and is not asking for doctrine or policy changes. In his presentation, he will talk about ways to implement President Ballard’s vision for LGBTQ Latter-day Saints in our congregations and families.

Brother Ostler is the author of three books at Deseret Book including "Listen, Learn, and Love: Embracing LGBTQ Latter-day Saints.” He also hosts the podcast, “Listen, Learn, and Love.” For more information, visit www.papaostler.com.

The event is on Sunday, Feb 9th at 7 pm (1 hour presentation and 30 minutes for socializing).

The event is free and open to the general public (generally 18 and older); however, because seating is limited, registration is required. Casual dress.

The event is not being recorded and there is no Zoom option.
