About this Event
Join us for a host of drop-in activities, hands-on experiments and dazzling demonstrations in this family-friendly day of scientific adventure.
You’ll discover how vegetable pigments can indicate acids and alkalis and test out handmade mini parachutes to safely drop cargo from big heights. Wonder at the workings of water absorption in plants, have a go at writing secret messages using invisible inks and explore the mystery of sound waves!
You’ll also learn how to do experiments that you can recreate at home with materials you can find around the house. There will be lots to see, predict, experiment with, learn about, get hands on with, and most of all, have lots of science-y fun!
We expect this to be a popular event so please reserve your space today. We are running two time slots just to help manage the busyness of the room (11am - 1.30pm and 1.30pm - 4pm). You don't need to arrive at the exact start time printed on your ticket - feel free to drop in at any time during your booked slot.
This event is in collaboration with Sheffield Hallam University.
Suggested donation £5 – help us send imaginations soaring! A donation from you could supercharge children’s learning, help people unlock their creativity and see visitors embark on journeys of discovery that last a lifetime.
