Kelly Blau Trio
Kelly Blau is a Minneapolis-based guitarist whose sound moves effortlessly across genres—from the improvisational depth of jazz to the storytelling warmth of country, the grit of rock, and the drive of bluegrass. A familiar presence in the Twin Cities music scene, he has performed with artists and groups such as Lydia Liza and Rachel Hanson, as well as a wide range of local jazz ensembles. This program offers a dynamic mix of instrumental cover arrangements and original compositions, showcasing both his technical range and musical personality. His interpretations reimagine songs by artists like Wilco, Gillian Welch, Janet Jackson, and Keith Jarrett—blending familiarity with fresh perspective—while his original works reveal a voice that is distinctly his own. Joining Kelly are Ross Nixon on Pedal Steel and Jack Bryant on Upright Bass.
