We are so pleased that they have chosen NEECA, 802 New Sherborn Road in Athol, as the location to host these three wonderful events. If you don't know what Ranch Riding involves, following is a brief desription:
Ranch Riding is a popular horse competition showcasing a horse's ability to be a pleasure to ride while performing tasks like a working ranch horse, emphasizing natural movement, relaxation, and ground-covering strides in various gaits, including extended trot and lope, with judges looking for a quiet, well-trained, and versatile partner in a functional, natural look. Ranch horse shows feature classes like conformation, showmanship, ranch horsemanship, ranch pleasure, ranch riding, ranch reining, ranch trail and more. Judges look for a horse that will be able to work a ranch and cattle like a ranch horse is expected to do, focusing on the horses ability to transition gaits smoothly and swiftly, respond to their rider efficiently and show the desire to do their job with a willing attitude and work ethic.
