The City of El Paso’s Grant Funded Programs invites the public to an open house design community meeting for the Sunland Park Dr. Shared-Use Pathway project. This 12-ft. wide path will run along the Sunland Park Dr. stormwater channel from Cadiz St. to S. Mesa St., and includes the following services and amenities:
• Pedestrian Illumination
• Parkway Improvements
• Pedestrian crossing improvements
• Landscaping
• ADA compliant sidewalks, driveways and ADA Ramps.
• Pedestrian amenities and bicycle facilities
Shared use paths provide safe, separate spaces for non-motorized travel and recreation, promote healthy lifestyles, strong community connections, and sustainable transportation. They offer a space for people of all ages and abilities to walk, bike, or use wheelchairs separated from vehicle traffic, while also serving as valuable community assets that link parks, businesses, and schools.
At the meeting, City staff will be present to provide information regarding the project, and answer any questions you may have.
This project, with an approximate budget $8.6 million, represents an ongoing investment in the City’s goal to beautify and reshape the visual identity of El Paso’s comprehensive regional transportation system for the benefit of the community.
