Sunderland Lit & Phil Society presents Sanctuary City

This November, we are hosting a special event at the iconic Sunderland Minster, discussing Sanctuary City.

You may have read about Sanctuary City in the news, heard it mentioned in passing, but not really know what this entails. With many claims and accusations flying around, we think it's time to get to the bottom of what this really means.

As always with Sunderland Lit & Phil Society, we seek to bring you guest speakers who are experts in the topic, the people who really know what's going on, and give you a chance to ask them your questions.

This month, our host Auburn Langley, will be joined by Chris Howson, the man behind the movement, along with Dr Robin Finlay, lecturer and social Science Researcher, specialising in human geography and sociology, with the rest of the panel still TBC.

Join us for an evening of thoughtful discussion, which aims to quell inflammatory rhetoric circulating in our city.

Any profit made from this event will be donated to a local charity chosen by our members.
