Prepare to be amazed as John Wilson returns to Merced, whose performances on albums have won two Grammy awards. His last performance at our 65th Season Opener, a collaboration with Merced Shakes, left the audience in awe. Mr. Wilson's rendition of Shostakovich's Piano Concerto #1 was nothing short of stunning, and we can't wait to see what he has in store for us this time.
For our premiere performance of Sundays with the Symphony, Mr. Wilson collaborated with the Merced Symphony and Merced Shakes for a repertoire surrounding a theme of Love.
In June, Merced Shakespearefest performs William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night at Merced's Applegate Park MOAT. We have chosen a few monologues from Shakespeare's Twelfth Night and several of the famous bard's sonnets. Members from Merced Shakes will perform those in between Mr. Wilson's carefully crafted repertoire.
Mr. Wilson's repertoire will support the theme of Love, "If Music be the food of love, play on!" from William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.
