In this class, Jonathan Ogden explores how South America balances deep roots with a modern, forward-looking energy, revealing a continent where historic vineyards and innovative winemaking coexist.

We’ll travel across South America—from high-altitude vineyards at the foot of the Andes to cool coastal regions and Atlantic-influenced landscapes—discovering how geography, climate, and latitude shape its distinctive wine styles. You’ll learn key regions, iconic grapes, and how to understand South American wine with confidence—without needing a map or a glossary.

During this two-hour class, we’ll taste ten South American wines, thoughtfully selected to illustrate the region’s range and identity—from bold, structured reds to vibrant, expressive whites and emerging styles. Class attendees will have access to preferred pricing on featured bottles following the tasting.
