Join Autrey Mill Nature Preserve staff on select Sundays this spring as they feed and care for each Animal Ambassador!
Your journey into animal care or husbandry starts inside the Visitor Center, where participants will receive detailed information about the snake they have chosen to observe, including interesting facts about snake digestion. After the indoor feeding session, the entire group will convene at the salad table for an educational experience in creating a Rainbow Salad and selecting an animal to feed.
Just like humans, our animal friends can benefit from a varied diet to obtain essential nutrients and enjoy a tasty treat! It’s important to remember that while variety is crucial, moderation is equally essential. For instance, fruits should be given sparingly as a treat to ensure our animal friends receive a well-balanced diet. After feeding the reptiles, everyone will move to the outdoor enclosures. The program will end with everyone at the goat enclosure to treat the goats with snacks and magnolia leaves!
