About this Event
Burgh House presents Sunday Sounds, our recital series showcasing emerging musicians.
Violinist Tanya Perez Jovetic is a versatile performer whose work spans solo, chamber, and orchestral repertoire. A graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, also studying her Masters there with Professor Jacqueline Ross, has participated in masterclasses across the UK and Europe.
Passionate about collaborative music-making, she regularly appears in recital with pianists and chamber ensembles, exploring repertoire from the Classical period to contemporary works. She has also performed with several orchestras such as Guildhall Symphony Orchestra, Fidelio Orchestra, and alongside the LSO in side by side projects such as the BMW Classics concert in Trafalgar Square. She has been invited to participate in projects at Abbey Road Studios, the Royal Opera House, Royal Academy of Music and various orchestras in Italy, as well as assisting for the Centre for Young Musicians and the London Schools Symphony Orchestra.
Alongside performing, Tanya is committed to music education and enjoys working with young musicians through teaching. She enjoys working with young musicians, helping them build confidence, technique, and a lifelong love of music, while continually developing her own teaching practice. She also regularly performs in care homes, bringing live music to residents and sharing the joy and comfort that music can offer.
Programme:
Johannes Brahms – Violin Sonata No. 1 in G major, Op. 78 (“Rain”)
Brahms’s First Violin Sonata is a work of quiet beauty and heartfelt expression. Nicknamed the Rain Sonata, it unfolds with flowing melodies and gentle warmth, creating an intimate conversation between violin and piano that lingers long after the final notes.
Edvard Grieg – Violin Sonata No. 3 in C minor, Op. 45
Grieg’s final violin sonata is bold, passionate, and full of striking contrasts. Richly inspired by the spirit of Norway, it combines dramatic intensity with soaring lyricism, culminating in a thrilling and uplifting finale that celebrates both virtuosity and heartfelt expression.
