IVAR ASHEIM
Ivar Asheim: Drums
Ivar Asheim is a Norwegian drummer and composer working between Norway and Denmark. Based in Copenhagen since 2020, he has become a prominent voice in the improvised music scene, a founding member of the Copenhagen-based international artist collective and label CRRNT Collective, and an active participant in several interdisciplinary performance art projects.
With roots in a family of musicians, Asheim has developed a versatile and personal approach shaped by improvisation, modern jazz, experimental pop, and Norwegian folk traditions. He has released four albums with his band Billy Meier, including a 2025 collaboration with American guitarist Blake Mills.
Since 2019, he has toured internationally with the acclaimed large free jazz ensemble Andreas Røysum Ensemble, performing at festivals such as Jazzfest Berlin, Oslo Jazz Festival, and ArtActs in St. Johann.
Asheim’s collaborators include Frode Gjerstad, Margaux Oswald, Lotte Anker, Simon Toldam, and Henrik Lindstrand.

JONATHAN AARDESTRUP / CHRISTIAN RØNN
Christian Rønn: Prepared piano
Jonathan Aardestrup: Double bass
The collaboration of Jonathan Aardestrup (bass) and Christian Rønn (Pia) centers around an intense, listening-based interplay and pushes the boundaries of sounds that can be created on acoustic instruments, giving rise to new sonic landscapes. There are traces of ambient, jazz, African rhythms, and synthesizers, but it materializes as a collage where one element is completely intertwined with the next and tricky to unravel.
Both are familiar faces on the Copenhagen and international scenes for improvised music and sound art, with several decades of experience. The duo has been active for a couple of years and will soon release their first album.
Their collaborations include TS Hawk, Bjørn Svin, Andreas Röysum, Randi Pontoppidan, Katt Hernandez, Ying Hsueh-Chen, Peter Peter, Peter Friis Nielsen, Ada Rave, Ikue Mori (DNA), PO Jørgens, Maria Dybbroe, Hanne Boel, Elias Rønnenfelt, and many more.
TICKETS: 80 / 120 DKK
Organised in collaboration with KoncertKirken.
Supported by Dansk Komponistforening, Dansk Musiker Forbund, Tuborg Fondet and Københavns Kommune
