Join us for Sunday Morning Shopping for Conservation at Mellow Monkey, benefiting hands-on conservation and education projects led by Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo’s Education Department.

Best of all, 15% of qualifying in-store purchases during the event will be donated to support these conservation projects.*

A Little Shopping. A Big Reason.

Your purchases will help fund programs that connect our community with the wildlife living right in our own backyard.

Citizen Science: Community Conservation in the Greater Bridgeport Area

These annual efforts invite community members to take an active role in conservation:

• Monarch Butterfly Watch — supporting community involvement in monarch butterfly conservation.
• Frog Watch — connecting participants with local amphibian monitoring.
• Project Limulus — horseshoe crab tagging in partnership with Sacred Heart University.
• SAFE American Turtle Program — a new program launching as part of Saving Animals From Extinction.

Trout in the Classroom

Local middle school students work with the Zoo’s Education Department to raise and monitor river trout at the Kathy Brady Education Center. In the spring, the trout are released into the river—giving students a hands-on connection to aquatic life and conservation.

Bring a friend, tackle your holiday gift list and spend your Sunday morning supporting wildlife and the next generation of conservationists.

If anyone asks about the shopping bags, you were helping butterflies, frogs, horseshoe crabs, turtles and trout. That’s a fairly strong defense.
