Sunday Morning Art Retreat

The Sunday Morning Art Retreat is a gently guided, restorative art making experience designed to help you slow down, settle your nervous system, and reconnect with yourself through mindful creativity.

Mindy will welcome you into a softly lit space where tea is served and the pace is intentionally unhurried. Each retreat begins with a brief grounding exercise to help you arrive fully while connecting to breath, body, and the present moment. From there, you’ll be guided into an art activity chosen for its therapeutic, regulating qualities. These activities are process-based and approachable, with a different focus each week to keep the experience fresh and exploratory. Art activities include torn paper collage, automatic drawing, contour drawing, somatic art, finger painting, repetative pattern drawing, loose watercolor painting, clay sculpting, etc.

Throughout the retreat, we’ll pause for gentle movement breaks that can be done seated, offering subtle ways to release tension and reawaken the body without disrupting the calm flow of the morning. The emphasis is always on how the practice feels, not how the finished artwork looks. This is about experience over outcome, curiosity over perfection.

After the art making portion, Mindy will hold space for quiet journaling, offering optional prompts to help you reflect, integrate, or simply notice what surfaced during the creative process. We’ll close the retreat with relaxed, open conversation for those who wish to share, connect, or simply listen.

No artistic skills or prior experience are required. Just come as you are!

Mindy studied fine art at Columbus College of Art & Design and is a 200-hour certified yoga teacher. She blends a deep understanding of artistic expression with mindfulness and body awareness to create a balanced, nurturing experience that supports both creative exploration and nervous system regulation.
