⚔️ Iron Tide Historical Fencing – Sunday Training
Begin your Sunday with the clash of steel and the camaraderie of fellow fencers at Iron Tide Historical Fencing!
Our Sunday sessions are now split into advanced training and beginner instruction, allowing us to better serve fencers at every stage of their journey.
🕙 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Advanced Class
Designed for experienced practitioners looking to refine technique and deepen their understanding of Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA).
Focus includes:
• Advanced technical drills and partnered exercises
• Controlled sparring with structured feedback
• In-depth historical technique studies from Joachim Meyer
• Footwork, timing, and tactical development
🕛 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM | Beginner Lessons
Perfect for newcomers or those newer to fencing. This class focuses on building strong fundamentals in a supportive and welcoming environment.
Beginner lessons cover:
• Basic guards, cuts, and footwork
• Partner drills to build control and confidence
• Introductory sparring concepts
• Historical context of the weapons and systems
Our club studies German longsword, saber, messer, arming sword, and buckler, with loaner gear available for new students.
What to bring:
• Comfortable athletic wear (long sleeves and pants recommended)
• Fencing mask, gloves, and any personal gear (loaners available for beginners)
• Water and a willingness to learn
