SUNDALE- MERITON PRECINCT, SOUTHPORT
Our next sketch meet will be held at the Sundale Meriton precinct. This area is a mixture of urban, residential, bridge and river views, with many hidden sketching gems just waiting for you to explore and sketch
WHEN: Saturday 13th June
TIME: 9.00 - 11.30am
HOST: Gail Haye
WHERE TO MEET: In the park in Como Crescent (see map), at the right angle bend
THROWDOWN: 11.30 at the throwdown location.
LUNCH AFTER: Approx 11.45 at the Bowls Club in Queens Park (see map) - 5min walk from throwdown
See menu - Prices very reasonable. GF, VEG and Vegan options available.
PARKING: Street parking is free and unlimited on Saturday . You can also park for free in the Bowls Club car park, but please park in back section and leave spaces near club for bowlers.
Paid parking available at the Meriton and Shores buildings.
Alternatively, take the light rail with the Broadwater Parklands station just a 2 minute walk from the meeting/throwdown spot.
TOILETS: Public toilets available at the Meriton Building, near Metro Woolworths.
WHAT TO BRING: Art gear, folding stool, hat, sunscreen, water
WHAT TO SKETCH: Plenty of choice at this location.
Hi -rise towers, old houses, park views, lovely trees, coffee shops, Sundale Bridge, river views, light rail station, bowls club. There are many hidden little gems in his Urban sprawl. Your challenge is to find and capture them on paper.
