Sun-Kissed Farewell: A cyanotype Bandana Workshop
About this Event
As summer takes its final bow, join us for an afternoon of sun-printing magic. Using the timeless cyanotype process, we’ll transform ready-to-print bandanas into one-of-a-kind wearable art - a personal keepsake to carry the season’s light with you long after it fades.
Cyanotype is a botanical printing technique that uses UV light and photo sensitive chemistry to capture the outline of objects in deep Prussian blue. No experience necessary - just curiosity and a willingness to play with light and shadow.
Admission Price: $45
WHAT TO BRING:
bring a personal object that means something to you this summer - a press flower, a paper silhouette cutting, a favorite stencil, a photography negative, a transparency print, or any small flat item with an interesting shape. Whatever you choose will leave its imprint on your bandana, turning it into a one-do-a-kind memento of the season.
WHAT WE PROVIDE:
100% cotton bandanas, cyanotype-ready and pre-treated, plus all printing materials and guidance through every step of the process.
🌞bring your object, bring your curiosity, leave with a sun-printed piece of summer.
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:
Juliana is the artist behind BYU.prints, a cyanotype studio rooted in the idea that light itself can be a medium. It started with printing her own clothes in the sun - and she’s been chasing that moment of revelation ever since, when an image blooms into deep Prussian blue. Now she shares that magic through workshops, where every piece comes out one-of-a-kind, because no two people bring the same story to the sun.
