Inga from the Foraging Corner will be showing a fun & unusual way of sun-drying fruit from the Red Zone (which can be used for vegetables too) adjusted to the Christchurch environment that any of us can do. Out of natural and recycled materials at hand with zero cost and no impact on the environment.Everyone is welcome to the sun-drying workshop at the Richmond community gardens.
While canning and preserving (including refrigeration & freezing) are extremely energy-consuming processes (relatively recent inventions of the industrial revolution time), sun drying is one of the oldest and most sustainable methods to preserve food dating back several thousands of years.

🎟 Registration is essential, 25$ pp, 40 per family (2 adults), children free and animals are welcome. Volunters of non profit organization's and community gardeners are welcome to come free or on a koha or vegetables from their garden bases, options available upon registration. Please register here:
