Hearing Place welcomes sound artist Craig Colorusso for an outdoor installation of his acclaimed sound work, Sun Boxes.
Taking place on the Autumn Equinox, when day and night are nearly equal in length, this solar-powered artwork evolves throughout the day, changing its sounds as the sun moves across the sky. Sun Boxes will travel across campus through three locations, culminating at Pickard Plaza with a premiere performance by the Mizzou New Music Initiative’s Creative Improvisation Collective.
Date: Sept. 22 (rain date Sept. 23)
Times and Locations:
9-11 a.m. — Kulman Court
1-3 p.m. — Francis Quadrangle
5-7 p.m. — Pickard Plaza with Mizzou New Music Initiative’s Improv Collective premiere of student competition
Approximately 7:10 p.m. (sunset) — Installation end
