We are summiting the challenging Gabal Madsous - advanced hiking levelBe ready for a lot of hiking and amazing views from the top and along the route.
Gabal Madsous panorama is one of the most beautiful yet challenging mountains in the Saint Catherine area. It is located in the remote western part of the Saint Catherine Mountains, in Gabaleyia tribe territory.
Madsous summit should be around 1800 to 1900m, the difficulty to summit is mainly that it does not have a clear trail to reach the summit,,, and it needs long hours of walking to reach the mountain itself, a complete day walking in and a complete day to walk out.
The mountain is remote, isolated and not visited frequently, which allows mountains goats and Ibex to settle.
Breathtaking view of the Red Sea from the summit and the whole range of St. Catherine mountains.

Wednesday, 15 January 06:00 pm to
Saturday 18 January 11:00 pm.
We will need to take Thursday off
The initial trip plan is as follows:
• Wednesday late night; reaching Tarfa. sleep to be ready for next day's adventure.
• Thursday early in the morning, after breakfast. Start our 10-12 hours hiking. By end of the day, we should reach our camping area, in the middle of mountains.
• Friday will hike and summit Gabal Madsous. enjoy views from the top, then head back to our camping area.
• Saturday morning, we walk out till reaching Tarfa.
• Head back to Cairo. Expected to arrive 11 PM
Important Tips:
• You'll need to bring your own camping gears (full list will be provided). No toilets on site.
• It will be cold at night.
• We might need to hike at night depending on our pace.
• Bottled water will be provided only at the beginning of the hike. Then we'll refill from wells along the route.
• No phone coverage during the hike
• Food is basic, yet very delicious Bedouin meals. Please let us know for any dietary requirements.
• Pick-up cars and camels will carry most of our gears. You're expected to carry your water, snacks, extra layer and anything you'll need during the hike.
Fees: 6160 LE/person

• Professional mountaineering leaders

• Thursday and Friday breakfast, lunch, dinner; Saturday breakfast and lunch.

• Thursday overnight in lodge then Friday & Saturday overnight in Wadi Talaa (wild camping)

• Camels and pick-up cars to carry our bags/camping gears

Cancellation policy:
•100% refund before January 5th.
•2000 LE cancellation fees after January 5th.
•No cancelation within 48 hrs from event start
