Hello Brothers,I have been thinking a lot about time. The fall weather is starting to peek it’s head up which makes me think of the changing season. Fall means a lot of things to me. It is probably my favorite season because it is the start of the holiday season. First Halloween which I love because of all the spooky movies that I watched as a kid. That leads into Thanksgiving which is a time of reflection and thanks. Fall also means the best sport ever is back on TV, football! It also means the return of back yard campfires for my family. In the upstate and farther north it means the dying of grass, leaves falling off trees, and hunting season. What was new and refreshed in the spring has now entered the time to die and go dormant.
As I get older, I am more in tuned to these cycles or seasons of life. I look at my daughter who is 9 and realize she is halfway to 18. I just turned 43 which means I am over halfway to 80. I look at my parents and they are getting close to that age where I could get the call you never want to receive. As I realize these things, I start to really value time. What have a done with my time? Have I used my time in a valuable way that it deserves? Am I being selfish with my time? Have I used the time God has given me in a wise way? Have I used my time to do the work he has laid before me? Whatever is has already been, and what will be has been before and God will call the past to account. Ecclesiastes 3:15. When I face that judgement will God say why did you waste my time on things that didn’t matter instead of using that time for things that are of God?
Cooking will start at 6am. Breakfast will be served at 730am.
• We need 4 people to show up early to help cook/set up and 5 to stay after to help clean up.
