David Basse’s warm inviting voice draws listeners into the world of jazz. With several recordings to his credit, his productions feature artists who attest to the depth of Basse’s music, pianist Joe Cartwright, saxophonist Phil Woods, Oleta Adams, as well as renowned lyricist Arthur Hamilton.
Basse is joined by 2 of his favorite musical partners this season. Pianist Greg Richter and bassist Joe Straws spent 15 years together on the island of St Croix, in the Virgin Islands. There, the two of them honed their craft while performing nightly with a principal artist with The Duke Ellington Orchestra, Jimmy Hamilton. Their special guest for the evening is alto saxophonist Henry Scamurra, an incredible talent and native of St Joseph, MO and a vibrant evening of music.
