This summer, we are watching movies together — not at the multiplex, but we are discussing them in the sanctuary, where we have always come to see the story that holds all our stories together. 'God on Film' is a series built on a simple conviction: the Holy One is not confined to church buildings or sacred texts. God is at work in the world, and sometimes we catch a glimpse of that work in the films we love — the stories we tell our children, the characters who make us laugh or weep or reconsider our lives.
For eight weeks we pair a film with a scripture passage and ask: What is God saying through this story? What does this film reveal about grace, calling, sacrifice, love, identity, courage, or resurrection?
