Summer Wilderness First Aid (8-15 yrs)

Be prepared, be confident, be safe! This course gives students the vital skills to handle unexpected summer situations whether you witness an injury indoors, or you're outside and far from help. Don't let the unexpected ruin your summer adventuring. Gain the confidence to act effectively in any situation.
Students will learn and practice:
Basic First Aid.
How to treat common injuries and emergencies.
Wilderness Injuries & Illnesses: Recognizing/treating outdoor-specific issues; sprains, hypothermia, poison ivy.
Patient Assessments: How to quickly figure out what's wrong.
Prevention: Ways to avoid accidents in the first place.
Evacuation: How to safely move someone and get help.
